The Working Group 3 on Standardised Inspection Outcomes of the CITA – International Vehicle Inspection Association – took stock and formulated new tasks.

Representatives from 11 countries took stock at the 5th meeting of WG3. The result of this successful work, in which the QM Association played a key role, is the almost unanimous adoption of CITA Recommendations No. 9 – ‘Quality’ and No. 17 – ‘Training and Competence’ at this year's General Assembly during the CITA Conference in Dubai. The recommendations developed by WG3 form an important basis for the implementation of the European Vehicle Inspection Directive 2014/45/EU.

By the next General Assembly in 2017, the experts of WG3 will develop targeted recommendations on other important issues, such as: 1. Effectiveness and efficiency of supervision; 2. Maintenance and calibration of the necessary equipment; and 3. Requirements for inspectors in vehicle monitoring. This is intended to support the implementation of Directive 2014/45/EU in the Member States and to identify efficient processes for countries introducing or reforming vehicle inspection systems.
